[How-To] set up 5.1 and speaker fill "UPDATED"
Okay you need to download soundflower 1.4.3 from here
http://code.google.com/p/soundflower/ and you need to have xcode tools installed specifically au lab Okay first to set up aggregate device go to Applications/Utilities and open Audio midi setup App From tob bar click on audio and then open aggregate device editor add a device and then tick the outputs you want to use in the lower window, and click done. Configure your speakers for stereo and 5.1 and make sure they are working. open up your aggregate device again and add soundflower 2 channel and click as clock. (see Aggregate_device.jpg) Once that is complete go to /Developer/Applications/Audio and open up au lab At first window change to hexagonal (see picture1.jpg), click next at second window add one input track so you have 1 in total, click next at third window choose soundflower 2ch for audio device in output and input. Click done. You can add a couple of audio inputs which will increase the volume. (see finnished_au_lab_setup.jpg) Change sound device in System Preferences to Soundflower 2ch You can add this to login items to start automatically If you don't want to have to minimise file at startup open saved au.trak with a text editor and change bottom lines for window size </dict> <key>Window Frame</key> <string>{{1, 1}, {1, 1}}</string> <key>Window Max</key> <string>{1, 1}</string> <key>Window Min</key> <string>{1, 1}</string> </dict> </dict> I would also recommend installing KeepSoundAwake 1.3 The only fault with this method is you will have to restart au lab after sleep 💡 Deploy cloud instances seamlessly on DigitalOcean.
