Netkas has just released a new version of PC_EFI with full support for Snow Leopard. As it's now based on Chameleon 2.0 code, it also shares features such as GUI booting and smbios patching.
Patches added:
- Emulating 64-bit efi pages
- removed setting IODT://options by bootloader,
- changed smth in hibernate for better ati compatibility
Notes:
- By default it boots 64-bit snow leo kernel on 64-bit cpus, flag -x32 will force loading 32-bit kernel
- Known issues: boot stalls if DSDT.aml isn’t present

Netbook battery life given a boost by the 10.5.7 update |

According to Wired, the recent Mac OS X 10.5.7 update has apparently given Hackintosh netbooks a significant boost to battery life of up to 33%.
Here’s a rather odd little tidbit regarding Apple’s latest update to OS X. While it doesn’t bring many -new features to the Mac, consisting as it does of-mostly-bug-fixes, OS X 10.5.7 apparently gives a significant boost to battery-life on hackintoshes. Reports from the MSI Wind forums are claiming a boost up to 33%, from-3 hr 45 min to a shade over five hours, using a six-cell-4400 mAh battery.

Apple on Tuesday released Mac OS X 10.5.7, a recommended update for all Mac OS X 10.5.x Leopard users that includes general operating system fixes that enhance the stability, compatibility and security of Macs.

The Mac OS X 10.5.7 client software is available as a 449MB download (currently via Software Update only) for Macs running Mac OS X 10.5.6 and as a larger combo update for Macs running earlier versions of the Leopard operating system. A list of specific enhancements included in the release follows:

MacRumors has learned that Apple's Boot Camp utility under Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard will include Windows HFS+ drivers, which will allow Windows installations to read Mac OS X HFS+ formatted partitions.
Boot Camp is Apple's software package that allows customers to boot Microsoft's Windows operating system on their Intel Macs. The Boot Camp package includes the necessary Windows drivers to support each Mac's hardware.
