I just installed the 9.3.0 kernel using the Kayaway package but unable to reboot due to a kernel panic, does any one have any ideas?

@bajanboy - boot in verbose mode with -v and let us know the what the cause of the panic is.
Do you have the xcode developer tools installed by chance? @Voyn1x - Thx for responding.
Yes I do have xcode dev tools installed, does this cause problems with kernel upgrades?, also I booted in -v and cant really make any sense of the output and unable to capture any of the output but I did make a note of some of the output. I hope that this can give you enough to help. dsmos: Initializing dsmos:Boot and decryption contexts set ! panic(cpu 1 caller 0x001A8CD4) kernel trap at 0x477b1618, type 13=general protection registry error code : 0x00000000 kernel loadable modules at backtrace with dependancies) com.apple.iokit .CHUDKernelLib (15618)@0x477b000 is there anyway that the -v output can be piped to a file? Hi bajanboy,
boot in safe mode -x, run from somewhere in Developer directory chud-uninstaller, and reboot. all will be fine. If you can't fnd the uninstaller, just remove all the chud kexts in the extensions folder. ![]() it's something to do with the current modbin 9.3.0 kernel being just bin patched to work on hackintosh ie. not an offical release. I had the same problem when I upgraded to 9.2.2, before that i had no problems at all. Hi Voyn1x,
I could not find the chud-uninstaller but was albe to delete all of the CHUD kexts but still getting the kernel panic. I remember having this problem trying to install 9.2.2 but never really tried harder. I would really like to get this to work, as I said I upgraded to 10.5.3 without any issues. I also have Leo running on another drive so I can play this without causing any problems. Is this because of the xcode tools that are installed? Do you have any more suggestons? thx |

Firstly make sure you've removed all chud kexts and that the kernel panic is still caused by the chud framework.
Secondly try flushing the kext cache by booting with -f Yes the chud framework is installed as part of the xcode ![]() Mac OS X 10.6.4 Retail || Intel Core2 Duo E8200 2.66GHz || Gigabyte G31M-ES2L || GeForce 6600 GT 128MB || Realtek ALC883 Audio || Realtek RTL8169 LAN || Samsung SpinPoint F1 1TB HD || Sony Dual Layer IDE DVD RW DW-D22A || Apple Aluminium Keyboard || Mighty Mouse MacBook Pro || 2.4Ghz Core 2 Duo || 200Gb HD || 2Gb Ram || NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT iPhone 4 || 16Gb |

Hi bajanboy,
as Voyn1x said correctly, if you still see the same kernel panic then you didn't delete the chud kexts properly. So you should try it once again! Here's a link: http://www.infinitemac.com/kernel-panic-after-installing-xcode-on-osx86/ |

I just reinstalled 10.5.2 on my main desktop computer after having done some upgrades to it and our other computers. I tried out Zephyroth's ASU and it installed the 10.5.3 upgrade perfectly. I even loaded the 9.3 modbin kernel after that worked so well. Looks great to me. Here's how my Desktop looks now (previously this MB was in my HTPC):
It's essentially my "2nd working Zephyroth 10.5.x Install": MB: Gigabyte GA-K8N51GMF-9 - nForce 6100/430 (I/O Winbond W86327) Socket 939 CPU: Athlon™ 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4200+ Video: Gigabyte 8600GTS 256MB PCIe ( QE/CI ) LAN: Airlink+ AGIGA32PCI (Realtek RTL8169) PCI gigabit network adapter - onboard RTL8201 disabled (optional) Wireless LAN: Airlink101 AWLL3026 802.11g USB (ZyDas software for 10.4.x) USB: 1.0 & 2.0 (supported natively & working properly) Firewire: Onboard VIA VT6307 IEEE1394 controller (supported natively) Audio: Onboard Realtek ALC880 - ANALOG AND DIGITAL (S/PDIF) working BENQ IDE DVD-+RW LightScribe optical drive 200GB Maxtor SATA HD 500GB Maxtor IDE HD 750GB Samsung SATA HD Booting 10.5.3 off external 300GB USB HD for now - I'll move it to an internal drive soon.. Hi Voyn1x and Puttabong,
Thank you both for your help.
