you can try copy an original Dock.app to /System/Library/CoreServices/

I have ati radeon 3850.
I've tried to create an EFI string using EFI studio and put it into boot plist, but I'm not sure I did it right.

With 10.5 i was doing that after succesful install, it wasn't necessery to have vga kext or EFI string before installing OS.

There was no need for patching it, especially not with Zephyroth's AMD Patcher.

It would help if you told us exactly how did you do it.

Using step 6 on this page:
http://www.ihackintosh.com/2009/09/i...pc-hackintosh/

But I had two problems:
1) I couldnt select my graphic card from the menu so I selected a random generic one.
2) In the boot plist I didnt find Graphics mode/key string, so I put the code to the end of the line

try to use an EFI string from your Leopard installation.. u might need to add Pci ID of your VGA to your ATI..... kext (i dont know the proper kext because i dont have ATI card)..
or you can try looking an answer in netkas.org

Hi aryajuanda, I reinstalled 10.6.1 update without patching, now I got Dock.
And some times I am getting com.apple.iokit.IOATAFamily 2.5.0 KP, If I reset the BIOS to default settings then it works. I need to reset every time, any Idea how to resolve this issue or Do I need to change any kext?

You can't do it like that. Use the EFI string from your Leo install. Paste your com.apple.Boot.plist for us to see what you did...

Here are my boot plists for OSX SL 10.6 install and from my 100% working Leo 10.5

BTW, in EFI studio when Display device is selected, I can only choose from list of Nvidia VGA cards, no ATI card in the list, and I have Gigabyte ATI Radeon HD3850.

Thanks in advance

Worked like a charm, thanx !

I had to use a retail DVD of Snow Leopard tho, my previous attempts (using other SL downloads) were causing KP's on first boot every time. . .

Also, do you think it is stable enough to run as main OS, I mean is it as solid as Leopard 10.5.8? And is there anything else you can tell us about the modbin test 7 kernel like what features it may or may not have, advantages or dis-advantages we should know about?
just curious. . .

Thnx,
