Kext package for ga-p35-ds3l retail install

Included are kexts needed for retail install (10.5.6) on ga-p35-ds3l
Everything works sleep (hibernation), shutdown, restart, 5.1 sound etc. etc.

Should also work for other gigabyte boards with alc888

Use efi studio to set up efi string for graphics, network and sound.
I suggest using chameleon v 1.0.11 and motherboard bios version F8

Shoot!

Maybe you can help me... I just browsed over your post and carelessly installed the kext's on my 10.5.5 system ( I was thinking that I still had a CCC backup on my second harddisk...). Now my system is not booting anymore with the error cannot access acpiboot device, I tried booting with -x -f - update but I cannot get it to boot up again.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance, Rasmu5

The kexts are for 10.5.6

here's what to do, unzip the attached kext package which is for 10.5.5, in the file named post-patch.sh open with a text editor and insert the name of your Leopard partition, you will see where.

Put the unzipped files on a usb stick or something, boot up with leopard dvd and change directory where files are and run ./post-patch.sh

Make sure your leopard partition is mounted

I applied the kexts, but don't seem to have normal reboot option working. Does it work for you when you go to the apple menu, select reboot, and have OS X come back up? My screen goes blank, and I have to power off machine and power back on to come back to life. Thanks in advance for your guidance.

restart works fine, could you give me a little more info about your system and how you installed?

I am trying a retail install on a new system using the method described by Munky on GA-P35-ds3l (EFI partition etc... ) and i tried the Kext's in this post. I did have the restart problem - solved with openhalt restart kext. The final problem i have is my HD's are orange.. System profiler shows unknown AHCI standard controller...

Am i right in thinking your 10.5.6 kexts should be good for this method ?
