i7 860 10.6.2 Clock and A/V 1.5x too fast
I recently upgraded to a P55 i7 860 rig. Installing iDeneb 10.5.8 lite was a breeze with everything (except sleep, damn you Sapphire 4870HD) working 100%. To my surprise installing 10.6 was almost as easy; installed PCEFI 10.5, fixed DSDT.aml bios reset, all necessary kexts in /extra folder and Qoopz Kernel. After updating to 10.6.2 the vanilla kernel now worked (along with everything else). Yay!
The only problem is that in 10.6.2 (possibly 10.6.X but I updated after fresh install) the system seems to be at 1.5X speed. System clock and video/audio playback run too fast, and certain apps that rely on the time (WoW) hang the system up, needing to do a hard reset. I switched back to the Qoopz kernel and it too is the same. I have not overclocked anything, and need NullAppleCPUPM.kext to avoid KP on startup*. * KP on CPU07 has no HPET assigned at the moment it's about to go to desktop, which is odd. I am assuming i7 860 run vanilla kernel due to Apple releasing the new i5/i7 iMacs (drool), so in theory AppleIntelCPUPM.kext should also work by default. I have looked around other forums on this subject and got little results. I guess I am one of those unlucky early adopters of a P55 i7 860 Hackintosh. Reportedly i7 920 users had this problem on X58 chipsets, so I am hoping someone here might have a solution. Believe me, you'd be a hero to many. My .aml
Forgot to u/l my DSDT.aml which may be helpfull. From what I can see, all necessary patching looks good but maybe I overlooked something.

You might try to boot using quoopz Kernel again - maybe with setting the FSB using busratio=XXX parameter - don't know if that will work - just an idea...

The answer is that you need a P55 Nehalem patched boot file- I posted a version of PC EFI v10.5 and the method to do it here:

Solved
Problem solved. I found the modified boot file on another site TonymacOSX86 (your post no less) and snagged it there. Thanx all. FYI for everyone else who has this problem, I uploaded and tagged the file to Kexts.com for convenience for anyone else who has i5/i7 1156 CPUs.
