Red face Impossible QE/CI - Geforce 6500 256Mb

Hey guys. I had my system running fine with Zeph's Rev. 1 updated to 10.5.3 with ASU and NVkush. So, I was having some problems with Final Cut 6 and decided to format e reinstall. For that, I downloaded Leo4all v2. Installed just fine, but no QE/CI. I even got to change resolutions but no QE: Hardware. I went back to the installation I made with Zeph's Rev. 1, hoping I would get everything back, but it didn`t work. I did all the steps I did the first time and no success.

I don't know what to do. I'm donwloading now IDeneb 1.3 10.5.5 to see what happens, but I'm not expecting too much. Can somebody help me?

Things I tried:
EFI Strings with UInstaller, NVinject (all of them), NVkush, latest Nvidia kexts, old Nvidia kexts.
EFI, Non-EFI, Chameleon.

All of those and nothing, several combination of those, and... nothing. i can`t believe it, because, it worked before, why it doesn't work anymore?

My specs:
MSI K8N Neo-f
AMD Athlon 64 3000+
1.5Mb RAM DDR333
XFX Geforce 6500 256Mb
HD SATA 250Gb Maxtor
DVD-RW Samsung IDE

P.S. Can somebody point links for the latest solutions for Geforce 6500? I can try other experiments, = /.

I don't think you need to try others distros. Try manually removing and reinstalling.

You can manually install the kexts.

1. Remove all video related kexts (nvkush, nvinject...)
2. Copy NVinject.kext to /System/Library/Extensions
3. In Terminal write:
Code:
sudo chmod -R 755 /System/Library/Extensions/NVinject.kext
4. Copied NVinject.kext to /System/Library/Extensions
5. Enter your admin password when prompted
6. In Terminal write:
Code:
sudo chown -R root:wheel /System/Library/Extensions/NVinject.kext
sudo rm -R /System/Library/Extensions.kextcache
sudo rm -R /System/Library/Extensions.mkext
7. Restart using the boot flags:
Code:
-v -f -F
-v Verbose
-f Ignore extensions cache
-F Ignore com.apple.boot.plist settings

If use any other boot flags add them to number 7.

P.S. this is a copy of a post I did a few days ago.

Listen to lanceomni

lanceomni's instructions worked perfectly for me, I had what sounds like the exact same problem, and now QE is enabled.

Thumbs up

Thank's for the answer, but it didn`t work.

Anyway, iDeneb worked perfectly!! Incredible, the first install I make without any issues!
I think the problem was the kernel, but I don`t know.

YEY I have a mac again! lol
