@timski:

I had the same problem... It seems ASU pings the apple update server and if there is no reply from the server, ASU assumes that there is no connection to the internet.
If you have a router/firewall try enabling icmp traffic... It worked fine for me!

Hope this helps!

Have you checked the ASU log, were any errors patching the update?

Btw. How did you manage to roll back the update using OSx86tools. I didn't think that was possible

After looking, I noticed that it rolled back to defaults and not to 10.5.4. It actually left the 10.5.5 in place but reset all of the system defaults. My system booted right after I did that and it's working nicely now. Thanks for responding though and if anyone else gets stuck, here's what I did:

boot in safe mode
open OSx86 tools
hit the Restore OS X to Defaults button (you will lose files etc.)
and then restart

it worked

Stuck with rolling ball

After the update the system cannot load the finder ( at liest i think that it is the problem). In verbose mode i get the same error as nateman06, but the boot goes further, but it stops after loading blue screen and rolling ball, already tried to lieve for the night -no progress. The bad thing is that in safe mode i get the same problem.

Please help. Maybe i can do something is single user mode?

@ p-J: Exactly the same here. The only bug I've found thus far is the older XNU 9.4.0 kernel is having trouble staying asleep - it wakes after 10 mins of sleep for some reason :\

tried ASU but it keeps telling me that "no cpuid found, no need to patch" and i believe it can`t be true, so - something is wrong, tried many times - still the same. Maybe someone could make amd-patched 10.5.4>10.5.5 update and upload it somewhere ? would be very grateful

Great work as usual of Zeph's Asu 0.5.
My only problem was an hang at reboot.... restarted with -x in safe mode, restored backupped mach_kernel and all done.
Well not all, i had more to reinstall audio kexts. All working now, QE & QI too...
