EFi-X Reviewed
If you've been keeping up with current events within the OSx86 world, then chances are you've heard of EFi-X. For those who haven't, EFi-X is a hardware add-on that allows one to install an unmodified retail copy of Mac OS X onto 'specific' PC hardware.
The device (which is essentially a dongle) needs to be plugged directly into the computer, and assuming you have the supported hardware, will boot and install Leopard, allowing for a purer OS X experience. Gizmodo recently had the opportunity to review the device to find out whether or not it lived up to the hype... "When we first heard about EFiX—a simple USB dongle that'll let you magically install Leopard on your PC—it sounded too fantastic to be true. Well, I used it to turn my gaming PC into a Mac Pro over the weekend, and I'm somewhat amazed to say this, but it works perfectly. The rest of the review can be found here at Gizmodo. |

Oh oh, going mainstream on Gizmodo will get Apple's attention for sure ...
*sits back and waits* (good review though) |

I'm sure that Apple was already aware of this technology long before it went 'mainstream'

The only thing i don`t really like is "short list of supported hardware". i wonder if we can use custom kexts along with efi-x dongle.
