Talking How to get Safari 4.0.4 + iTunes Store without 10.5.8

I found myself a while ago wanting to use the iTunes store and I did not want to update to 10.5.8.

1. Download or purchase 'Pacifist' (google) and the Safari4.0.4 PKG

2. Open the PKG in Pacifist and extract the files

3. Done, Safari itself will probably crash but iTunes store will work.

4. Get Firefox or Chrome if you don't like the crashing :P

Zephyroth OS X 10.5.8 • MSI K9N Neo-F V1 • AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+ • 4GB DDR2-800 • Samsung 320GB SATAII • NVIDIA GeForce 8800GTS 320 MB
----
OS X 10.5.8 • PowerBook G4 • PPC 1.67GHz • 2GB DDR2 • 80GB HDD • ATI 9700

You can also modify the files in the installer to trick it into thinking you have met the requirements. Granted there are usually reasons why these programs are not intended to be installed when they do not meet their requirements. I would always backup prior to modifying files or extracting installers.

This is not limited to system versions but it can also be handy when installing to say a netbook which does not have the minimum screen resolution.

You can try to install Safari with Pacifist with the option 'install to default location'

But you were already warned for possible crashes!
