Well what options did you use when you installed it?
are you using USB sata pata drives?
if internal did you set your devices to ahci mode in the bios
how mutch ram are you using
i could go on and on
first info then you can get help
how do you know you have to use rd-disk1s1?
tip you could download and install gparted as a boot manager.
