Here is my hardware configuration, dvd-rom is slave and sata drive tertiary master (I guess this is by default)

> Processor : AMD Athlon 64 X2 3600+ @ 2000 MHz

> Video Card : NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GS
> Hard Disk : SAMSUNG (250 GB) 2504c SATA II
> DVD-Rom Drive : TSSTcorp CD/DVDW SH-S182M SATA
Is there any solution or it simply doesn't work for my hardware ?

hey, i had the same prob and someone gave me a solution to it!
TRY THIS!
1. Get the UUID for the install partition on your external.
Boot the DVD and go into Disk Utility. You can see your external. Right click your install partition and select information. You should now see a long alphanumeric string Something like: "CC3DCCBD-1CF3-3FEE-8D50-625375FEBF3D". Copy this Unique Identifier to a sheet of paper and shut the computer down.
2. Boot using the UUID
Start your machine up with the DVD and type
-v boot-uuid=PUT_YOUR_UUID_HERE
It worked for me, it takes about 5-10 mins though and it seems to be stuck on one line. Be patient and it should boot up!
