Hey guys,

I have a vanilla 10.6.4 rig that I currently have an 8600gt. I wanted to upgrade and picked up a 9800gt 1gb EVGA card and even though every wiki said it worked perfect OOB... trouble ensued.

(Card has 1dvi, 1vga, 1hdmi)

I tried graphics enabler at first which didnt' recognize the card (running chameleon rc3 and 10.6 efi). EFI string in boot and NV enabler worked on their own. This card in my system also gave me a chameleon error but couldnt' find a solution to that (story for another time)

My main problem is that I have a monitor that is HDMI and not DVI. Upon reading pages and pages of forums... I found that some 8800 and higher have black screen of death issue with using an HDMI monitor / TV. I also found that my card could not use any adaptors either. DVItoHDMI did not work and neither did HDMI to HDMI

I returned my card and I'm wondering if there is a card out there that actually works with HDMI past 10.6.3. I'm hoping there is more to this problem as the last few posts on the forums was editing and working with 8800 bios loading through boot.

I was looking for something that could work with graphicsenabler. My rig is an HP and Dell Monitor setup. HP is HDMI and Dell is DVI. I want an upgrade and audio pass is not an issue.
