NewsGroup is alt.binaries.mac.cd-images
Follow the procedures below-
PC Users: (I prefer NewsRover, a NewsGroup /UseNET Client)
1 - Download one program called GrabIt at “http://www.shemes.com”
2 - Go to “http://astinews.de/xtest” and put your e-mail there to receive an server username and pass to connect to usenet (it is a free account but will do the job)
3 - Check your e-mail and take note of your Reader, Username and Password that you received from astinews
4 - Install GrabIt and use the infos from astinews to start usenet
5 - Inside GrabIt, go to GrabIt Usenet Search and search for “alt.binaries.mac.cd-images” and add it to your list…
6 - After that, still in GrabIt go to Articles and at the end of the list you’ll see the files to download… just right click them and “Grab Selected Articles”
Mac Users: (Use Unison- a NewsGroup / UseNET Client)
1. Download Unison (http://www.panic.com/unison/)
2. Go to “http://astinews.de/xtest” and sign up for a Free Account
3. Check your E-Mail
4. Install Unison and enter the Login information that you received to your E-Mail by Astinews
5. Search for the Newsgroup “alt.binaries.mac.cd-images” and add it
6. Search for the files by zephyroth and start downloading
Hi,
My question:
Can I only download the new Leopard 10.5.2 AMD EFI Rev.2 Release via the Newsgroups?
I’m a Member of various other Sharing sites.
My problem: Can’t login to astinews.de for free, because I forgot my Password.
Sorry,
Thanks Aljonama
Hi aljonama,
The newsgroups are the first place where the release will appear. But don’t worry, after the first persons downloaded it, a torrent will certainly appear very shortly.
Have fun!
Thanks so much Blackbird. OK I’m still waiting now and by the way…;)
sorry english
aljonama
Blackbird:
How can I reach that newsgroup? Can you give me a link to that page and is it possible to become a member? Thanks.
Hey there HAL 9000, have a look at WinLinMacs post. He’s pretty right :)

For Linux users, you can use Pan (Usenet news client) to download the files.
Login details and procedure to download remains same as mentioned by WinLinMac01
I wish there were some info about what will happen in the install procedure. I’m nervous about the dual boot; I remember all seeming to go well with Sabayon Linux, but I couldn’t access Windows afterwards. What boot manager/selecter is used?
Since I only get online via wifi, I’d welcome word on whether Racal RT9500 is supported.
Pardon my ignorance on these matters. I’m very new to this. I have an install of Zephyroth’s 10.5.2 rev1 running. Is there a way for me to get just these updates and patch them to my live install? Or do I have to reinstall totally?
Thanks!
The installation seems to be running fine until I encounter an error saying, ‘Install Failed Mac OS X could not be installed on your computer. The installer could not create the folder “/volumes/OS X/Basesystem.pkg. …”.’ I’m guessing this probably has something to do with writing a file. I’ve customized everything in the installation options, i.e., language packs, TOE (whatever that is), etc. I’m on a Dell Dimension C521 (AMD Athlon 64 X2 4000+). I apologize - I’m not familiar with hardware, but I’m under the impression this should be working properly. Could this have something to do with the options I have set? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
I downloaded the ISO from the news group, but the checksum doesn’t check out. So far installing fine (installing now and it’s checking consistancy). Was there a change?
