YES to a SSE2 patched SL Distro
Definitely, a Huge  YES to a prepatched Snow Leopard Distro for old SSE2-only systems.
I have an old 3GHz P4 Northwood limited to SSE2 with a 256MB GeForce6600 gfx card that I'm dying to get off and running OSX 10.6.
