No problem 
Instead of using Mirror Displays, I do this... - Open System Prefs
- Click "Displays"
- Go to the "Arrangement" tab (with second display plugged in)
- Drag the little white bar to the external display
You maybe able to fix sleep with a DSDT, but I wouldn't know too much about that.
