macosx11 9.2.2 Kernel for AMD releasedAn anonymous user (modbin?) has finally released a flawlessly working 9.2.2 Kernel and System.kext for AMD OSx86 Systems.

After applying the new Kernel, the performance seems to be a little more smooth, and the system seems to boot slightly faster.

The new Kernel can be downloaded here. Upgrading is highly recommended.

PCWiz Mac OSx86 Kernel Installer

kernelinstaller  PCWiz Mac OSx86 Kernel InstallerPcwiz has released version 1.1 of his Kernel installer application that will automatically install Mac OS X kernels for you.

All you need to do is run the Kernel Installer application program included in the zip file (download below) and it will guide you through a user friendly, interactive wizard to back up your existing Kernel and to install a new one.

Changelog (v1.0 to 1.1)

  • The kernel can be selected from anywhere rather than just the desktop
  • You can specify the name of the file that you want mach_kernel to be backed up to
  • You can install to a different target drive than the drive you are running it from

Premade Leopard VMware Released

92px-vmware_fusion Premade Leopard VMware ReleasedPcwiz has recently released Leo4VMware, a version of Apple’s Mac OS X Leopard 10.5.2, which has been modified to work flawlessly with VMware on Windows XP or Vista.

It’s not just a VMware disk image, it also contains the configuration files and everything one needs to boot right out of the box.

Installation Instructions:

Once you have unzipped the product, there will be a folder called Mac OS X Leopard. Launch VMware and open an existing virtual machine - then go into the unzipped Mac OS X Leopard Folder and select the FreeBSD 64 bit config file.

xcodeicon Kernel Panic after installing XCode on OSx86Was your Mac OSx86 Leopard system running fine, just until you experienced a Kernel Panic when rebooting after installing XCode or the iPhone SDK?

Don’t panic! This problem can be solved easily.

Let’s look at the error of the Kernel Panic:

Kernel loadable modules in backtrace (with dependencies):
com.apple.iokit.CHUDKernLib(28)@0×2e54e000

To solve this issue, you simply have to delete all the kexts starting with CHUD inside of your /System/Library/Extensions/ Folder.

iphonesdk Apple Releases iPhone SDK Beta 2 with Interface BuilderApple released a new beta of the iPhone Software Development Kit today. The new Build 9A2151 can be downloaded by registered iPhone developers.

The 1.4 GB sized download includes the Interface Builder, an application of Apple’s development tools, which lets developers create interfaces for their applications.
